Roborigger has adopted innovative electric motors developed for next generation electric cars by Protean Electric in our latest model as part of the company’s global expansion strategy.
The Protean Electric’s ProteanDrive Pd18 has been recognised as the technology for the next generation vehicle applications including the 3D-printed Olli autonomous urban passenger shuttle by Local Motors.
Its lightweight, compact, and integrated synchronous motor provides a high torque output from zero RPM – ideal for steadying and supporting heavy loads required by Roborigger applications.
Roborigger founder Derick Markwell said this partnership with Protean Electric is in line with the company’s requirement for a robust, high power, low weight, and ready-to-go motor solutions as we seek to roll out the Roborigger technology globally.
“Currently we use one ProteanDrive motor for each Roborigger unit, but increasing demand means we are already looking at applications with two Protean motors, for even more power. We are committed to making the construction, oil and gas and mining industries safer, and the seamless integration and adaptability of this technology opens up a realm of possibilities”.
